At our academy, children are at the heart of everything we do. We believe that listening to pupil voice, valuing children's opinions, and developing leadership skills are essential in creating a positive and successful school community.
Our Pupil Parliament meets weekly throughout the year to discuss a wide range of topics that matter to our children, our school, and the wider world. Members debate important issues, share ideas, gather feedback from their peers, and work together to make meaningful improvements within the academy.
Through taking part in Pupil Parliament and other leadership opportunities, children have a genuine voice in shaping our school. They play an active role in influencing our ethos, policies, and daily practices, helping to ensure our academy continues to meet the needs of all pupils.
Making a Difference
Our Pupil Parliament doesn't just discuss ideas – it creates real change. Over recent years, pupils have successfully influenced a number of developments across the school, including:
- Improvements to wet lunchtime provision and activities.
- Reviewing and suggesting changes to school dinner options.
- Helping to decide which playground and outdoor play equipment should be purchased.
- Sharing ideas to improve the school environment and pupil wellbeing.
- Supporting initiatives linked to inclusion, behaviour, online safety, and environmental awareness.
Throughout the year, Pupil Parliament members take part in trust-wide debates and discussions, exploring themes such as climate change, inclusion and accessibility, positive behaviour, online safety, and how young people can make the world a better place.
We are proud of the enthusiasm, leadership, and commitment shown by our pupil representatives and look forward to sharing updates on their meetings, projects, and achievements throughout the year.
