Intent
At The Limes Primary Academy we believe that a high-quality science curriculum is key for understanding the world around us. We deliver our science curriculum through ‘CUSP’ lessons to ensure our pupils are immersed in rich scientific language and acquire knowledge and skills needed to be ready for the high school.
Through building up a body of key foundational knowledge, vocabulary and concepts, pupils are encouraged to recognise the power of rational explanation and develop a sense of excitement and curiosity about natural phenomena. They are encouraged to understand how science can be used to explain what is occurring, predict how things will behave, and analyse causes.
We deliver an enquiry-based teaching approach which inspires learners to question, hypothesise and test scientific concepts, engaging all children in the awe and wonder of science. Our learners develop the ability to pose scientific questions regarding the world around them – a crucial skill.

The Limes Science Fair!
A Science Fair is an incredible platform for young minds to explore, experiment and showcase their curiosity and creativity in the realm of science. It allows children to collaborate with their peers in pursuit of a scientific question or phenomenon that piqued their interest.
Whether its conducting experiments, building models or creating innovative demonstrations, there are endless possibilities for creative exploration.. Not only will The Limes’ Science Fair encourage scientific inquiry, but it can also foster a love for learning and discovery that can last a lifetime.
At The Limes all children get the opportunity to develop a hypothesis, create a display and show it off during our school Science Fair!
Here are some photos of our past Science Fairs...we can't wait to see what our children create this year!
